RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS.  Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

The Management of MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY

 

BODY:

  1.  Lucas Oil, SAS Body Rules Apply

  2.  Deck height can be no taller than 38 inches at any time

  3.  Max. 8 inch spoiler by 72 inch, measured 8 inch of material

  4. Factory appearing fiberglass tops allowed.

  5. 16x24 left rear spoiler must be attached to spoiler (602 Only)

FRAME:

  1.  Any full fabricated frame, 2x2, 2x3, 1 ¾ square or round tubing or Camaro clip allowed.

  2.  Min. Wheel base 103 inches

SUSPENSION:

  1.  Lucas Oil suspension rules will apply.

  2.  Max. Engine set back is 6 inches measured at number 1 plug to top ball joint.

  3.  Any aluminum calipers and any steel rotor no less than .810 thick, no single fin or exotic type allowed.

  4.  Any drive shaft.

SPRINGS:

  Only coil springs will be allowed. No pneumatic springs, hydraulic springs, air shocks, or air springs will be allowed. A shock that produces more than 75lbs of rod force when compressed to the center of the shock mounts measurement at the car's static ride height is considered a spring and is illegal. 

  1. Coil springs must be made from magnetic steel

  2. Stacked springs are allowed

  3. Progressive springs are allowed

  4. Spring preload adjustments for coil springs must be made using mechanical adjusting nuts on the shock body. No air dumps or hydraulics.

  5. Other than spring damping b the shock absorber, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electronically controlled adjusting devices, (static or dynamic) that affect spring preload or race car heights will not be permitted; air dump devices are not allowed.

  6. Spring rubbers are allowed

Bump Stops: 

Bumps stops are permitted. Bump springs are permitted. No pneumatic or hydraulic bump stops will be permitted.

Shocks:

Oil or gas, must be non-adjustable, no external reservoirs permitted, shocks may be steel or aluminum, shock may be claimed for $200 coil over kit not included.

GAS:

  1. E-85 or racing gas only.

*Fuel samples will be taken.

TIRES:

  1. Fronts – 1350/CR21 or 1600/ AR48 or AR 56/CR 55

  2. RR – AR 56/Equivalent or Hoosier 1600/Equivalent except 602s are allowed to use 1350 or 1600

  3. LR 1350 or 1600.

  4. NO chemical treatment inside or out of any kind.

  5. Any 14 inch aluminum wheel allowed.

  6. Sealed 602 will be allowed 1350 or AR48

*Tire samples will be taken.

WEIGHT:

  • 2400 LBS

 362 cubic inch

  • 2350 LBS

 604 sealed crate or 362 cubic inch with OEM type heads

  • 2250 LBS

 602 unsealed crate

  • 2200 LBS 

 Any factory sealed 602 crate, must meet ALL GM specifications intake to oil pan with GM seals.

OPTION 1. MAX 362 cubic inch and 604 crate.

  1.  Any steel O.E.M. block, max. 362 cubic inch.

  2.  Any steel crank, 3.480 stroke, +/- .200 Min 48 ld.

  3.  Any steel rod allowed, NO titanium or aluminum.

  4.  Any flat top piston, NO dome pistons allowed.

  5.  Solid lift cam and lifters only.

  6.  Any valve springs.

  7.  Any steel (no aluminum) aftermarket 23 degrees head, one degree tolerance, NO raised runners allowed, NO porting or polishing, grinding, angle milling allowed whatsoever, max. Valves 2.02/1.6, stainless steel valves only. NO cc rule.

  8.  Factory style one pc. Aluminum intake allowed.

9.Any 4 barrel carburetor allowed.

10.Any MSD style ignition allowed, no traction

      Control or stutter boxes allowed.

11.NO Tri-Y Headers.

12.No external oil pumps.

13.NO titanium parts of any kind.

CRATES:

  1.  Any sealed or unsealed 604 crate engine 2350lbs.

  2.  Factory seals are not required but must MEET all GM specs including cam, bore, stroke, heads, rocker arms, etc. Protested engine will be impounded and subject to the same protest rule as the NeSmith crate rules, engine will be impounded and taken to a qualified person and must meet all factory specifications.

OPTION 2: 602 unsealed Crate or 362 cubic inch with Any O.E.M. Type Heads

  1.  Any 602 unsealed crate engine, THE BOTTOM END MUST REMAIN 602. The heads must have O.E.M casting numbers but intake and rocker arms can be changed.

  2.  Same bottom end as the 362 cubic inch rule except heads.

  3. Heads must be steel O.E.M. 23 degrees. (Plus or minus 1 degree.) Must have GM NUMBERS in castings.

  4. Port and polishing allowed.

  5.  Any steel valve Max 2.02/1.6.

  6.  O.E.M. factory vortex allowed.

  7.  NO Dart, Bowtie, RHS, etc. Factory replacement type heads allowed.

OPTION 3 : SEALED 602 must meet gm specifications.
