THE MIGHTY MIDGETS RETURN TO MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY ON APRIL 30

SPRING CITY, TN – The Southern States Midget Racing Series will return to Mountain View Raceway on Saturday night, April 30. These cars last appeared at Mountain View Raceway in October of 2020. That race featured an exciting three-wide finish to the checkered flag that was won by Isaac Chapple of Willow Branch, IN.

Along with the Midgets, the Southern States 600cc Mini Sprints will also compete on the Rhea County ¼-mile high-banked clay oval on April 30. There will also be Mountain View Raceway Weekly Divisions in action on April 30 that will be announced in the coming weeks.

With the addition of the Southern States Midget Racing Series to the 2022 Mountain View Raceway Schedule of Events, track officials have moved the 3rd Annual $2,500-to-win Rocky Top Rumble Late Model Race to Saturday night, April 16. Support Divisions for this event will also be announced in the coming weeks.

The Midget Race Cars are 900 pound open-wheel, open-cockpit race cars with a 66 to 76 inch wheelbase. They are powered by 350 to 400 horsepower four-cylinder engines manufactured by Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota that are fuel injected burning methanol fuel. The Southern States 600cc Mini Sprints are a little smaller than the Midgets powered by 600 cc Motorcycle engines.
