SUPER LATE MODEL SPRING NATIONALS THIS SATURDAY AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY


SPRING CITY, TN – The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Super Late Model Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels will roll into Mountain View Raceway this Saturday night for a $5,053-to-win 53-lap main event on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval. The race will feature the top drivers in the Southeastern Unite States battling for over $20,000 in prize money.


Along with the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals’ third round of the 2021 season, the Mountain View Raceway Sportsman, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Dwarf Divisions will also be in action this Saturday night with extra cash being paid out for their weekly points-paying events.


Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA is the Spring Nationals point leader going into the weekend with a two-point lead over Brandon Overton of Evans, GA. Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, TN and Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, GA are tied for the third spot, 16 points behind Overton and David Payne of Murphy, NC rounds out the top five, 30 points out of the fourth spot.


McDowell is a National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee with the 1999 Hav-A-Tampa Dirt Late Model Series National Championship, the 2019 Spring Nationals Championship and the 1994 Southern All-Star Dirt Late Model Championship highlighting the resume of the 54-year-old driver.


Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN leads the Sportsman point standings at Mountain View Raceway with 100 points after two straight wins. Aaron Watson of Dayton, TN, Scottie Hogan of Decatur, TN, Dale Page of Rock Island, TN, and Donnie Van Winkle of Soddy Daisy, TN round out the top five.


Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN is the Thunder point leader followed by Cody Satterfield of Knoxville, TN, Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN, Scott Smith of Soddy Daisy, TN and Eric Honeycutt of Rockwood, TN.


Nick Adams of Crossville, TN leads the Front-Wheel-Drive point standings followed by Nathan Adams of Crossville, TN, Billy Long of Niota, TN, Tyler Walton, Crossville, TN, and Jacob Sharp of Crossville, TN in the top five.


The top five in the point standings for the Dwarf Division has Charles Dunlap of Clinton, TN in the lead followed by Hunter Rich of Jamestown, TN, Ed Bray of Cookeville, TN, Orion Mount of Knoxville, TN and Dakota Richards of Spring City, TN rounding out the top five.


This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m., while the Grandstand and Tier Parking gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Drivers registering after 5:30 p.m. will get only one-lap to qualify. The Driver Meeting is set for 5:45 p.m. with Hot Laps/Qualifying scheduled for 6 p.m.


General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-12, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. Pit Passes are $40 for Adults, $20 for Children 6-12, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free.
