SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway will host its first Open Practice of the 2022 season this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Pit Gate opens at 10 a.m. The practice on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval will be open to all racing Divisions. Admission to the Pit Area will be $20, and admission to the Grandstand and Tier Parking will be $5.

Competitors and fans alike will see more improvements to Mountain View Raceway for the 2022 racing season. The competitors will see an enlarged pit area to accommodate the average weekly car count of 125+ race cars, and they will also notice a more progressive banking on the racing surface.

New air conditioned rest rooms are currently under construction in the Pit Area for the 2022 season. Race fans will see two new levels of Tier Parking for a bird’s eye view of the action. Since Kelvin and Susan Hampton bought the closed down Spring City Raceway in 2017, they have completely melted down and repoured the Rhea County facility into one of the nicest race tracks in the country.

Mountain View Raceway will begin its third season of operation in 2022, and the Hamptons are looking to keep improving on the track that was voted by the fans as the 2021 Best Race Track In Tennessee in a pole conducted by the Tennessee Racing Facebook page. In addition to the Saturday Open Practice, the track will host a second Open Practice on March 12 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The 2022 Season Opener at Mountain View Raceway will be on Saturday night, March 26 with the Late Model, Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, 4-Cylinder, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions in action. The 4-Cylinder Division will alternate weeks with the B-Hobby Division for the 2022 season. The 2022 Schedule of Events and the Division Rules are posted on the track website at
