DOUBLE MONEY, DOUBLE POINTS, RED CLAY 602 SERIES AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY

SPRING CITY, TN – It’s going to be a busy night of racing this Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway as there will be Double Money and Double Points for six of the track’s seven Weekly Racing Divisions, and the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will run in a $1,250-to-win Main Event. There will also be a Crew Chief’s Race at the end of the racing action.

Mountain View Raceway Owners Kelvin and Susan Hampton had 95 Entrants in eight Divisions ready to race last Saturday night when a thunderstorm moved in and rained out the races. The Hamptons elected to reward the racers’ loyalty that night with the Double Money Double Points races this Saturday night.

Also added to this Saturday night’s Racing Program are the Open-Wheel Modifieds that will run for Regular Money and Regular Points. The Crew Chief’s Race was also postponed until this Saturday night. Competitors and race fans can use their arm bands or ticket stubs from last Saturday night for admission either this Saturday night or on August 28 for admission to the track.

With all of the action on the schedule of events for this Saturday night, the Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will Hot Lap Qualify and go straight to Feature Races. Drivers that were entered at last Saturday night’s rainout will start in front of any new drivers that enter this Saturday night’s race.

The Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will run their usual format that will be announced by the series. The dirt late models in the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.

Among the top drivers expected with the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series are Blake Wright of Etowah, TN, Scottie Hogan of Decatur, TN, Seth Wimpey of Blue Ridge, GA, Chris Wood of Dalton, GA, Dylan Cole of Trenton, GA, and Baily Cardwell of Knoxville, TN.

This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers Registering after 6 p.m. will start at the rear of a Heat Race or get one lap of Qualifying.
