RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

The Management of MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY
BODY:
-
American rear wheel drive only.
-
Steel or aluminum stock style bodies.
-
Minimum wheel base 108 inches.
-
Car must have floor pan under the driver's seat made from minimum 0.60 aluminum or steel.
-
Firewall may be cut to a minimum for clearance purposes.
-
All glass and plastics must be removed.
-
Must have legible numbers on both sides.
-
8 inch spoiler - no wider than deck lid (72" max like Late Models)
-
Deck height measured at Max 39" from ground to top of T-bar.
-
Must have some type of tow hook at front and rear of car.
-
The rear of car can to be enclosed to be more stock appearing or remain open like late models.

FRAME:
-
Any American made rear wheel drive frame, NO 1955 frames with Camaro clips allowed, must be to factory specification, no narrowing or shortening of side rails, frame must extend from steering wheel box to center of rear end, uni-bodied cars (Camaro, Nova) can be tied together at front to rear with no more than 2 x 2 box tubing but must have factory frame to center of rear end. Must have full roll cage front to rear with full halo bar overhead and must be welded in at least 6 places in center cage, min. 3 door bars on driver’s side and 2 on passenger’s side welded together with vertical supports, fuel cell must have bars protecting rear side in case of rear impact. Rub bars allowed but must stay inside of doors, no bars or screws exiting car at any time.

Full frame cars, 2x3 box tubing allowed only behind rear end for mounting fuel cell, no round tubing in frame rails of any kind.

Full frame cars, all O.E.M factory suspension mounts must remain in stock location, with the exception of the upper A frame mounts, which can be altered.

Full frame cars, right rear frame rail must remain stock but can be narrowed or altered no more than 2" for clearance.

Clip cars can run as long as front stock frame extends to within 2" of the firewall. Other aftermarket frames must be inspected by Mountain View Raceway and determined legal before allowed to race.

Aftermarket factory replacement frames legal with all suspension and steering locations remaining in stock locations, must be approved by Mountain View Raceway tech officials as well before competing.

Suspension/Steering:
-
No gas charged shocks unless they are stock look a like. (no schrader valves, NSV, screw type, piercing valve type, sealed gas charged shocks or shocks with external canisters). Racing brand shocks ok as long as they are oil shocks and must be mounted at all four wheels.

One shock per wheel only.
-
Shocks must be able to be fully compressed and have no pressure pushing back when laid on tech shed work bench.

Stock appearing springs front and rear (coil or leaf) five inch minimum coil.
-
Leaf spring cars may run sliders.
-
May run adjustable spring buckets or weight jacks.
-
May run aftermarket front upper control arm in original OEM position. Front lower control arms must be stock or stock replacement mounted in original OEM position. +/- 1/2" upper arms.
-
Stock steering boxes OK, or late model type racks must add 25 lbs.
TIRES:
Open tire rule in the fronts. Left Rear Hoosier 1600s, 1350, Crate 55 or D55, LM40 or CR21 crate tire, American Racers 56 or 48 Hoosier or American Racer Open Wheel 8" tires. Right rear use Hoosier 1600, AR56, Crate 55 or D55, LM40 or open wheel hard tires only. 400/cubic inch motors must use Hoosier 1600, Crate 55 or D55 or AR56 for both rear tires. Tires can be grooved, sipped and ground, Right rear must punch 50 after all heat and feature events, no chemical treatment, or softening of any kind, no tolerance, side plating must be visible to read from either inside or outside of tire to identify it, if no marking can be found to be readable the tire will be deemed illegal

Transmission:

Automatic or straight shift.
-
Automatic must have working converter. (100lbs weight brake for automatic)

Bert, Brinn or Falcon Racing transmission OK
-
No direct drives or no valve pedals.
-
Mini clutch with straight shift OK.

Rear End:
-
Any O.E.M. or racing quick change rear end
-
Wide five hubs OK (recommended).
-
Disc brakes OK.
-
Any brake calipers.
-
Panhard bar OK. Top link must be solid. Non-solid top link must add 25 lbs, 3 link suspension must add 50 lbs.

Rear control arms may be bars with heims. May be adjustable in length only. Rods must be straight with no secondary movement possible, ie…. no spring rods, etc…Rear end mounts must be solid (welded or clamped on tubes). No bird cage style mounts that allow the rear end to rotate or move in any way.

Stock Fuel:
-
Pump gas, E-85 gas or Racing Fuel only (no alcohol, no nitrous oxide or no other fuel additives).
-
Fuel cell mandatory and mounted within metal box and supported with at least (2) 2" x 1/8" steel straps.
-
No electrical fuel pumps.

Weight:
-
Full frame cars with sealed 602 crate motor minimum of 2800 lbs
-
Full frame cars with 362 cubic inch motor minimum of 3000 lbs.
-
Full frame cars with 363 to 406 cubic inch motor minimum of 3200 lbs.
-
Clip cars with sealed 602 crate motor minimum of 3000 lbs.
-
Clip cars with 362 cubic inch motor minimum of 3100 lbs.
-
Clip cars will not be allowed to race with engine from 362 to 406 cubic inch motors.
-
Any car that is fully legal for the Durance Layne Performance Street Stock division series may race in this division, weighing 3050 lbs.
-
Aluminum wheels (any type car) must add 50 lbs.
-
3-link rear suspension (any type car) must add 50 lbs.
-
Non-solid top link (any type car) must add 25 lbs.
-
Late model type steering racks (any type car) add 25 lbs.
-
Automatic transmission (any type car) will receive 100 lb weight break
-
Roller cam engines (any type car) must add 50 lbs.
Wheels:
14" inch wide maximum width on any wheel. Bead locks OK. Aluminum wheels add 50 lbs. (No Carbon Fiber wheels allowed)

Engines:
362 cubic inch maximum, anything over 362, up to 406 add 100 lbs.

Headers allowed.
-
Any intake. No porting.
-
Any carburetor.
-
OEM cylinder heads may be ported/polished and angle milled. May run open intake if you run OEM heads with casting numbers. After market heads OEM degree for engine +\- 1/2 degree. Must be cast from manufacturer. No port and polish. No raised runner heads. If you have questions please ask Mountain View Raceway tech officials.
A. No modifications. No exceptions. No port, polish or deburring. May be flat cut. Must be 23 degrees with ½ degree tolerance.
B. May be cut for screw in studs and guide plates.
C. Stainless steel valves allowed.
D. No titanium valves allowed.
E. May run roller rockers and stud girdle.
F. May run larger diameter than stock valve springs.
G. Max 2.02 intake valves and 1.6 exhaust valves.
H. ARP head bolts OK.
5. Any flat tappet cam allowed. Roller cams allowed, add 50 lb bolted in front of the bell housing/firewall. No mushroom lifters.
6. Flat top pistons only. Zero deck minimum. Must have rings in minimum 3 grooves. No gas ports allowed.
7. Crank must be minimum 48 lbs. including crank gear. Stock stroke crankshaft ONLY with rod journal minimum diameter of 2.100". Cranks may be turned up to .030" for crank repair.
8. Steel rods only.
9. OEM cast iron blocks only.
A. No bowtie or aftermarket blocks allowed.
B. May over bore and use ARP main bolts and oil screens.
C. Decking of block surface allowed.
D. No part of the piston may protrude above the deck of the block.
E. May run aftermarket oil pans. Steel pans only.
F. Stock style oil pump.
G. OEM Heads are open
602 sealed crate motor allowed with weight break.......
